Auction Charges
WVA charges £2.50+VAT upon registration, this is to open your selling account and legitimises you as a bidder.
Sellers Commission :- 0%
Bottle Registration Fees :- £3.00+vat
Reserve Price Fees :- £4.00+vat
Buyers Commission of 10%+Vat will be added to your won lots Hammer Fee at auction end.
All winning bidders will get 3 days (72 hours) after auction end to pay for ALL WON LOTS.
After this time a Late Payment Fee will be added to your order, this is a further 3% of the hammer fee + VAT. Please pay promptly.
Storage Fees - Bottles can be stored at WVA for £5.00 + VAT per bottle per year.
PLEASE CONTACT US if you would like us to hold your bottles for a 2 month grace period so more bottles can be shipped together. After 2 months, storage charges will apply and bottle/s will not be shipped until storage is paid.
Shipping Charges
WVA'S shipping to Mainland UK will be charged at DHL 24 hour shipping rates + VAT, please see the Shipping Rates PDF below.
PLEASE NOTE - All bottles 50cl up to 1 litre will be charged at 2kg shipping weight each. Bottles of 50cl and above which have large/heavy presentation boxes/cases will be shipped at their total weight. If lots contain multiple bottles of 50cl and above they will be charged at 2kg each. 5 bottles = 10kg.
Miniature Whisky bottles are charged at 0.10kg each.
Shipping outside the UK will be charged at the PDF rate to your country.

IMPORT FEES AND TAXES TO COUNTRIES OUTSIDE THE UK:-
Due to Brexit shipping to the EU may now Incur import charges/VAT to your shipping destination. The buyer is responsible for checking and paying these import fees for there respective countries before bidding.
It is down to you as the buyer to pay any import fees and taxes due when the bottles enter your shipping country. If you choose not to pay your countries import fees and taxes then WVA Whisky Auctions will NOT ask for the parcel to be returned to us. This will result in you losing your bottles and refunds will not be given.
Courier Insurance is valid for 30 days from shipping as per couriers T&C's , after which no claim can be processed.
When Checking out to pay for your Bottles the website will default to Shipping costs with Courier Insurance at 3% of the Hammer Price. If you do not wish to Insure your Parcels then Please choose Normal Courier Delivery Option. Insurance is advised.
If lots are shipped and something happens during courier transit, WVA will not be held responsible or entertain making a claim against the courier company for uninsured items. Items are insured against Breakage and loss NOT LEAKAGE.
PLEASE NOTE - WE CANNOT SHIP TO THE FOLLOWING EU COUNTRIES:-
Czech Republic, Estonia, Poland, Hungary, Greece, Italy, Spain,
Sweden, Romania and France.
DHL COLLECTION FROM YOUR DOOR T&C'S :-
WVA Whisky Auctions can offer free DHL collection from your door (Minimum 5 bottles or £500 Value) This is solely a booking service to assist you getting your bottle to us. if you require packing advice please get in contact.
PLEASE NOTE :- WVA does not take any responsibility for any parcels that are Damaged, Broken, Leaking or Lost in transit. it is the senders responsibility to pack their bottles very well and take out insurance if required. The sender is also responsible for providing any further information/documentation required by DHL/UPS in the process of a claim, Failure to do this will result in an unsuccessful claim. If parcels are uninsured then a claim will not be entertained.
SHIPPING AND INSURANCE INFORMATION TO THE USA:-
WVA will ship to the following states in the USA :-
ALASKA, CALIFORNIA, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, IDAHO, LOUISIANA, NEBRASKA, NEW MEXICO, NEW YORK, OREGON, VIRGINIA, WYOMING, VERMONT, MAINE, MASSACHUSETTS, RHODE ISLAND, CONNETICUT, NEW JERSEY, DELAWARE, MARYLAND, TEXAS, FLORIDA, WASHINGTON, GEORGIA, ILLINOIS, PENNSYLVANIA, NORTH CAROLINA AND SOUTH CAROLINA.
If the insurance option is chosen when shipping to the USA your parcel will only be insured for its journey within the UK to the 3rd party logistics, Once the parcel leaves the UK it will not be insured!!.
USA Delivery Update 15/06/2023
When shipping to the USA only 6 bottles can be shipped per box and multiple box orders now have to be booked in separately with the 3rd party logistics. (Example - 3 box orders are now 3 individual shipments to the same person) Therefore any shipments with more than 6 bottles will now be calculated as follows -
1 x 12kg shipment (6 bottles) + 1 x 2kg shipment (1 bottle) - 7 bottles
1 x 12kg shipment (6 bottles) + 1 x 4kg shipment (2 bottles) - 8 bottles
1 x 12kg shipment (6 bottles) + 1 x 6kg shipment (3 bottles) - 9 bottles
etc.....
Shipments of more than 12 bottles will be calculated as follows -
2 x 12kg shipments (6 bottles each) + 1 x 2kg shipment (1 bottle) - 13 bottles
2 x 12kg shipments (6 bottles each) + 1 x 4kg shipment (2 bottles) - 14 bottles
etc...
