About this bottle

Laphroaig 2013 Single Cask Selection Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, an exclusive single cask bottling specially produced for The Whisky Shop. Laphroaig's official Single Cask Selection series highlights specific, exceptional barrels chosen either by the distillery's master blenders or in partnership with premium spirit retailers to showcase how different wood types influence their iconic medicinal, peaty, and coastal Islay flavour profile. Laid down in 2013 and matured until being bottled in 2026 (making it roughly a 12 to 13-year-old expression).  Highly limited run of only 300 bottles worldwide

Lot Conditions

Bottles in this auction are never classed as brand new. Boxes, bottles and packaging may carry marks or creases due to age. Please inspect the photographs closely before bidding, and contact us for an in-depth condition report: if a report is not requested, lots are sold as seen.

Given the age of the bottles and seals, the condition of the liquid is at the buyer’s discretion. Bottles can be insured against breakage or loss, not leakage.

  • A 12.5% + VAT buyer’s premium is added to the hammer price.
  • Payment is due within three days of the auction ending. After that, a further 5% + VAT of the hammer price is added.
  • Bids are binding. By bidding you accept the terms and conditions.

About the distillery

The Laphroaig distillery was established in 1815 by Donald and Alexander Johnston. The Johnstons who founded Laphroaig were from the Clan Donald and are likely to be from the MacIain of Ardnamurchan branch of the clan. The family anglicised their name to Johnston. The last member of the Johnston family to run the distillery was Ian Hunter, a nephew of Sandy Johnston, who died childless in 1954 and left the distillery to one of his managers, Bessie Williamson.
