About this bottle
The Balvenie 12 Year Old "The 1931 Collection" Limited Edition is a premium single malt Scotch whisky released in September 2026. It serves as an accessible entry point to a highly exclusive trio built around the distillery's oldest-ever release: an 88-year-old single malt distilled in 1931.
Crafted by Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie, this expression celebrates the opening of The Balvenie's Home Malt Floor in 1931 and focuses heavily on traditional, hands-on production.
Lot Conditions
Bottles in this auction are never classed as brand new. Boxes, bottles and packaging may carry marks or creases due to age. Please inspect the photographs closely before bidding, and contact us for an in-depth condition report: if a report is not requested, lots are sold as seen.
Given the age of the bottles and seals, the condition of the liquid is at the buyer’s discretion. Bottles can be insured against breakage or loss, not leakage.
- A 12.5% + VAT buyer’s premium is added to the hammer price.
- Payment is due within three days of the auction ending. After that, a further 5% + VAT of the hammer price is added.
- Bids are binding. By bidding you accept the terms and conditions.

About the distillery
The legendary William Grant first founded the Balvenie Distillery.
In 1886 he was able to open Glenfiddich, a brand that thrives to this day. He was also one of the first to pioneer single malts over blends. Glenfiddich was in high demand and Grant decided it was time to open a new distillery.
The Balvenie came to life in 1892 and is based in the Speyside region, on the same site as Glenfiddich and Grant’s other distillery, Kininvie.
