About this bottle
The first in the series, Macallan Concept Number 1 celebrates the world’s visionaries by daring to disrupt the whisky making process. Exclusive to global travel retail, Macallan Concept Number 1 is inspired by surreal art and incorporates innovative production techniques to create an exciting new single malt. Created from whiskies matured first in sherry-seasoned oak casks and then for an equal time in ex-bourbon casks, this single malt is crafted to explore maturation more imaginatively.
Lot Conditions
Bottles in this auction are never classed as brand new. Boxes, bottles and packaging may carry marks or creases due to age. Please inspect the photographs closely before bidding, and contact us for an in-depth condition report: if a report is not requested, lots are sold as seen.
Given the age of the bottles and seals, the condition of the liquid is at the buyer’s discretion. Bottles can be insured against breakage or loss, not leakage.
- A 12.5% + VAT buyer’s premium is added to the hammer price.
- Payment is due within three days of the auction ending. After that, a further 5% + VAT of the hammer price is added.

About the distillery
The Macallan distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Craigellachie, Moray, Scotland. The Macallan Distillers Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Edrington, which purchased the brand from Highland Distillers in 1999.
The Macallan is generally considered to be the second or third highest-selling single-malt scotch, next to Glenfiddich and, by some accounts, Glenlivet.
