The Macallan Carta Nautica 20 Year Old. Released as an exclusive Global Travel Retail expression, this single malt undergoes an unusual maturation sequence, starting in sherry-seasoned oak casks before finishing in select ex-bourbon casks. The palate delivers a vibrant profile of orange peel, mango, and charred pineapple balanced by warm wood spice. Complete with its stunning, wave-grooved deep blue sculptural wooden presentation case and integrated artwork by artist Amy Genser.
Lot Conditions
Bottles in this auction are never classed as brand new. Boxes, bottles and packaging may carry marks or creases due to age. Please inspect the photographs closely before bidding, and contact us for an in-depth condition report: if a report is not requested, lots are sold as seen.
Given the age of the bottles and seals, the condition of the liquid is at the buyer’s discretion. Bottles can be insured against breakage or loss, not leakage.
- A 12.5% + VAT buyer’s premium is added to the hammer price.
- Payment is due within three days of the auction ending. After that, a further 5% + VAT of the hammer price is added.

About the distillery
The Macallan distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Craigellachie, Moray, Scotland. The Macallan Distillers Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Edrington, which purchased the brand from Highland Distillers in 1999.
The Macallan is generally considered to be the second or third highest-selling single-malt scotch, next to Glenfiddich and, by some accounts, Glenlivet.
