About this bottle
The oldest ever release from Port Ellen! Known around the world as one of the most iconic whisky distilleries, Port Ellen 9 Rogue Casks has been created by Master Blender Craig Wilson. Marrying 9 rare casks of 40 year old whisky that lay hidden in warehouses waiting to be discovered. Nine stories that have come together to create one unique and momentous malt.
The stocks from Port Ellen before closure in 1983 are limited in quantity and highly revered by the whisky experts as they improve with age. Special releases of these stocks offer a unique opportunity to own a part of Port Ellen’s history. There are only 1380 bottles available of this release, which makes it both the oldest and the most limited public release from the distillery.

Lot Conditions
Bottles in this auction are never classed as brand new. Boxes, bottles and packaging may carry marks or creases due to age. Please inspect the photographs closely before bidding, and contact us for an in-depth condition report: if a report is not requested, lots are sold as seen.
Given the age of the bottles and seals, the condition of the liquid is at the buyer’s discretion. Bottles can be insured against breakage or loss, not leakage.
- A 12.5% + VAT buyer’s premium is added to the hammer price.
- Payment is due within three days of the auction ending. After that, a further 5% + VAT of the hammer price is added.
