About this bottle

This release from June 2013 consists of two 35cl bottles with a box designed by David Holmes. One bottle depicts the queen from 1953, matured solely in American oak sherry seasoned casks, while the other matured in Spanish sherry seasoned casks. Only 1,953 boxes were produced to convey the date of the coronation in 1953.

Lot Conditions

Bottles in this auction are never classed as brand new. Boxes, bottles and packaging may carry marks or creases due to age. Please inspect the photographs closely before bidding, and contact us for an in-depth condition report: if a report is not requested, lots are sold as seen.

Given the age of the bottles and seals, the condition of the liquid is at the buyer’s discretion. Bottles can be insured against breakage or loss, not leakage.

  • A 12.5% + VAT buyer’s premium is added to the hammer price.
  • Payment is due within three days of the auction ending. After that, a further 5% + VAT of the hammer price is added.
  • Bids are binding. By bidding you accept the terms and conditions.

About the distillery

The Macallan distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Craigellachie, Moray, Scotland. The Macallan Distillers Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Edrington, which purchased the brand from Highland Distillers in 1999.

The Macallan is generally considered to be the second or third highest-selling single-malt scotch, next to Glenfiddich and, by some accounts, Glenlivet.
