About this bottle
The Collection is a celebration of The Macallan's commitment to Natural Colour and Sherry Seasoning. The Colour Collection 21 Years Old showcases whisky that has been aged in American oak casks, beautifully enhanced by a delicate addition of European oak. The oak casks used for The Macallan Colour Collection 21 Years Old are seasoned with sherry wine from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. With flavours of tropical fruits, coffee, hazelnuts and dark chocolate orange, the whisky is a natural, warm bronze colour.
Artist and Graphic Designer David Carson has brought the influence of the cask to the fore through an array of rich brown tones that evoke the wood and its toasted, caramel flavours, with a hint of spice.
Lot Conditions
Bottles in this auction are never classed as brand new. Boxes, bottles and packaging may carry marks or creases due to age. Please inspect the photographs closely before bidding, and contact us for an in-depth condition report: if a report is not requested, lots are sold as seen.
Given the age of the bottles and seals, the condition of the liquid is at the buyer’s discretion. Bottles can be insured against breakage or loss, not leakage.
- A 12.5% + VAT buyer’s premium is added to the hammer price.
- Payment is due within three days of the auction ending. After that, a further 5% + VAT of the hammer price is added.

About the distillery
The Macallan distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Craigellachie, Moray, Scotland. The Macallan Distillers Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Edrington, which purchased the brand from Highland Distillers in 1999.
The Macallan is generally considered to be the second or third highest-selling single-malt scotch, next to Glenfiddich and, by some accounts, Glenlivet.
