Description
An official bottling from the Macallan distillery in collaboration with Lalique, for the creation of the glass carafes. This range, called "The golden age of travel", is made up of five bottlings staging the different modes of transport in the 1930s: the Oceanliner, The Aeroplane, The Steam Train, The Motorcar and The Airship. The Oceanliner was the first bottling in the series, released in 2015 exclusively for duty-free travel. It is an incredible Macallan distilled in 1937, which was first bottled in 1972 before being re-bottled from 2015 onwards using the remaining stocks.
The crystal decanter comes with a magnificent leather box created especially for the occasion. The nose reveals superb tropical fruits and floral aromas. On the palate, chocolate notes mingle with dried fruits (figs, dates) and exotic fruits (mango, guava). Notes of beeswax also enrich the palate. On the finish, smoky notes appear before a mentholated freshness concludes the tasting of this extremely rare whisky.

About the Distillery:
The Macallan distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Craigellachie, Moray, Scotland. The Macallan Distillers Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Edrington, which purchased the brand from Highland Distillers in 1999.
The Macallan is generally considered to be the second or third highest-selling single-malt scotch, next to Glenfiddich and, by some accounts, Glenlivet.
