Description
The Lakes Genesis is the first-ever single malt whisky release from The Lakes Distillery, located in the Lake District, England. Released in July 2018, it marked the milestone where the distillery's spirit reached the three-year legal minimum to be classified as whisky.
The expression is a cask-strength single malt matured through a complex three-stage process: initial aging in Oloroso sherry hogsheads, followed by maturation in American and European oak casks, and a final finish in rare orange wine casks from Andalusia, Spain. This unique finishing imparts a distinct flavor profile of spicy chocolate-orange, dried fruit, and vanilla.
