About this bottle
The Macallan Carta Nautica 1987 is a highly limited, ultra-premium 38-year-old single malt Scotch whisky. It serves as the flagship expression of the Carta Nautica collection, which celebrates the historic transatlantic journey of the distillery's oak casks.
The bottle is housed in an intricate, custom-designed wooden presentation box featuring water-inspired, multi-layered paper artwork by prominent artist Amy Genser. The texturing mimics oceanic topography and sea charts, echoing the nautical theme of the release.
Lot Conditions
Bottles in this auction are never classed as brand new. Boxes, bottles and packaging may carry marks or creases due to age. Please inspect the photographs closely before bidding, and contact us for an in-depth condition report: if a report is not requested, lots are sold as seen.
Given the age of the bottles and seals, the condition of the liquid is at the buyer’s discretion. Bottles can be insured against breakage or loss, not leakage.

- Payment is due within three days of the auction ending. After that, a further 5% + VAT of the hammer price is added.

About the distillery
The Macallan distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Craigellachie, Moray, Scotland. The Macallan Distillers Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Edrington, which purchased the brand from Highland Distillers in 1999.
The Macallan is generally considered to be the second or third highest-selling single-malt scotch, next to Glenfiddich and, by some accounts, Glenlivet.
