Description
Christopher & Company were one of London's oldest wine merchants, predating even Berry Brothers & Rudd. The company unfortunately ceased trading in the 1980s.
This Grand Seigneur Cognac is a marriage of brandies that were discovered in their Leith warehouse, some of which had been there for 75 years.
Christopher’s Grand Seigneur Cognac is one of those rare happenings that modern technology computerisation and warehousing will never allow to be repeated. At the back of our cellars in Leith we discovered 12 casks of vintage cognacs which had been lying there undisturbed for up to 75 years. After tasting these extraordinary rare brandies we decided that although the individual casks revealed quite magnificent cognacs none were as fine and elegant as a selected blend of a range of them. Grand Seigneur will never be repeated and not surprisingly it includes Grande Marque 1906, Pellison 1950, Hine 1953 to name but a few. Enjoy this rarity - is it the ultimate cognac.
