Description
Daftmill is a farm distillery. Owned and operated by the Cuthbert family, it only runs in the farm's quiet periods; mid-summer and winter, sometimes producing as few as 100 casks per year. When not distilling, Francis Cuthbert looks after the estate, growing the malting barley used to make this Lowland whisky.
The barley variety Optic was grown in their South fields and harvested in the last week of August 2006. It was then stored on the farm to be malted in Alloa during the summer of 2007.
This 1st fill Ex-Bourbon barrel from Clemont KY was the pick of the bunch for Rob Whitehead from BB&R. It was distilled on the 5th of March 2010 and has been bottled exclusively for Berry Bros & Rudd.

About the Distillery:
Daftmill Distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery, located in a converted barn at Daftmill Farm in the Howe of Fife.
The distillery was granted a licence by HMRC in 2005 to produce whisky and the first was produced on 16 December 2005.
Built in a converted meal mill and using un-peated malt, Daftmill has a maximum production capacity of only 20,000 litres of alcohol per year, making it a very low-volume distillery. Its first release was introduced as Daftmill 2005 12–Year Inaugural Release. All the grain used in distillation is produced on the farm.
