Description
The rumour mill was working over-time when this one first got announced! A brand new whisky from Buffalo Trace, under the much-loved Weller label.
Weller, often likened to Pappy Van Winkle, carries the legacy of William Larue Weller, a pioneering Kentucky distiller from the late 1800s who first used wheat instead of rye in bourbon. Originally crafted by Stitzel-Weller Distilling Company, Weller has been part of the Sazerac family since 1999.
The latest addition, Weller Millennium, blends bourbon and wheat whiskey distilled in 2000, 2003, 2005, and 2006. Bottled at 99 proof, it’s a tribute to 1999, the brink of the Millennium.
Buffalo Trace haven't released exact numbers in terms of the size of the release, but it's certain to be quite limited given the age of the whiskies in the blend!

About the Distillery:
Buffalo Trace Distillery is a distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, owned by the Sazerac Company. It has historically been known by several names, including the George T. Stagg Distillery and the Old Fashioned Copper (O.F.C.) Distillery. Its namesake bourbon brand, Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon whiskey, was introduced in August 1999. The company claims the distillery is the oldest continuously-operating distillery in the United States. The company says the name "Buffalo Trace" refers to an ancient buffalo crossing on the banks of the Kentucky River in Franklin County, Kentucky. The Sazerac Company purchased the distillery in 1992.
