Description
This Glenfarclas Pagoda Ruby Reserve is a 62-year-old 1.5ltr Magnum single malt Scotch whisky distilled in 1954 from a single sherry butt (cask #445).
Production: The whisky was bottled by Glenfarclas as part of the Pagoda Reserve Series. There were 180 standard 70cl bottles released, as well as 62 magnums, of which this bottle (#58) is one.
Presentation: Each magnum comes in a Glencairn decanter, which features hand-mounted rubies and a solid silver collar. The decanter is presented in a glass display case and includes a flight-case.
Tasting notes: According to tasting sources, the whisky offers a rich profile with aromas of espresso, dark chocolate, blackberry, and gooseberry, and a palate of clove-studded oranges, sherry raisins, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

About the Distillery:
Glenfarclas distillery a Speyside whisky distillery in Ballindalloch, Scotland. Glenfarclas translates as meaning valley of the green grass. The distillery is owned and run by the Grant family. The distillery has six stills which are the largest on Speyside and are heated directly by gas burners.
The distillery has a production capacity of around 4 million litres of spirit per year. Normally four stills are used for production with two kept in reserve.
